Red Lentil

A couple weeks ago my friend and I ventured out to Watertown to a wonderful little vegetarian/vegan restaurant, Red Lentil. Such a unique menu that made it very difficult to decide what to order - thankfully my friend is a good sharer so we were able to try out 3 different dishes! The portions were pretty generous and so we both went home with leftovers too. The place isn't too big but apparently they have a second location in Connecticut. I would definitely go back!

Red Lentil
600 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown

We started out with one of their appetizer specials. Yucca fries and vegetable spring rolls served with coconut cilantro chutney and soy sesame dressing. Yucca is a very starchy root vegetable, so it's a little heavy for an appetizer.
I loved the spring rolls though - and the sesame dressing was delicious on them. Crispy on the outside, delicious filling on the inside.

For the main dishes, we decided to share the pizza special and the sweet potato quesadilla. The pizza had mozzarella, tomato, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, sweet potato, goat cheese topped with micro greens for $13.00. Crunchy on the outside, not too thick or too much sauce, and just tasty overall! There were two other pizza options on the menu in addition to the special one that night.

The Sweet Potato Quesadilla had roasted sweet potatoes, grilled asparagus, roasted plum tomatoes, spinach and jack cheese with greens and fresh tomato salsa for $9.50. It would've been a lot of food for just one person - but the portion that I brought home, I reheated in the oven and it came out delicious!

I saw a couple of other tables order the Thai Peanut Noodle Salad which looked really good, and the other thing on the menu that jumped out at me were the Beet-Potato Latkes. It looks like they have different specials every night, so there are always new things to try out in addition to all of the wonderful options on the regular menu!
